The story

Seventeen years of dreaming a bathhouse for this city.

Founder Nell Rueckl traveled the world for wellness wisdom: European thermal springs, retreats across Asia, Indigenous healers, the old water rituals. She brought it all home to the 1883 Switch House by the Mississippi, and in 2022 opened the Twin Cities' first communal bathhouse. Earth tones and natural light above; below, a subterranean circuit lit in cobalt and aqua, with a projection wall carrying the cosmos across the water.

"Participating in community allows us to become more whole as individuals. It's transformational at every level." Nell Rueckl, founder

Below ground, the bath hall opens into something otherworldly: warm cobalt water, and the cosmos drifting across the walls. You feel it before you can name it.

Two sanctuaries & more

The current is rising across the city.

And more is rising still: a market and food, new rituals, and more room to gather. Watershed keeps growing toward the same idea, a place to come home to the water.
